I’m a bit of a graphics design junkie, and if you’ve visited my blog before you noticed how UGLY it was!
I’ve spent some time getting it redesigned, and it’s still a work in progress.
Most people I’ve shown it it LOVE IT, but some (Robert Plank) really hate it.
Personally, I think it kicks ass, and looks much better and more professional than the ugly wordpress theme I was using before.

The bigger the header, the more of the “meat” is below the fold. Which is more important for you to let us know: the info you want to share, or the image of a slouchy, lazy-looking (and frankly, kinda drunken-looking) man we’ll see with each post?
Me, I’d cut the height of the header by half, and get a better photo, one that sends a better message (“I’m alert, I’ve had some coffee/Pepsi, I bathed, and I’m on the ball!”).
The colors and layout are TERRIFIC, though. Well, save for the grey text. I’d like to kill the moron who thought, “Who needs contrast? Let’s make everyone squint and get eyestrain! The less contrast, the better!” Books are black text on a white background for a reason. But the soft bluish color and orange? Way to go!
